The Position
Are you a talented Finance professional with an excellent academic education? Do you want to gain genuine global experience working in different areas of Finance? Then, Roche’s global rotation program called “Finance Perspectives” is for you! Finance Perspectives is designed for individuals who are at an early stage of their career in Finance and seeking to make significant contributions in our industry. We are looking for highly energetic and globally mobile future Finance leaders from around the world.
 
Recognizing the central importance of experiential learning and development, Finance Perspectives provides a unique opportunity to build a broad global network, experience different areas of Finance, and gain skills that will be necessary for a career in Finance – and all this in an accelerated timeframe.
 
Features include:
  • Duration: 2-2.5 years in total
  • Rotation into different projects/positions within Finance in different countries (core finance processes, regional & key function/business area controlling (global/local), audit)
  • Assignments will be tailored to your areas of interest and development needs
  • Mentoring by a Senior Finance Leader throughout the program and beyond


    Is this you?

    Ioana joined the program in January 2013 from Romania to be based in Basel working in Global Product Strategy Controlling as Junior Controller for 8 months. Then, she moved to Roche Diagnostics International in Rotkreuz for 2 months as Financial Controller before taking on her current assignment in Roche Diagnostics Shanghai working in the Accounting & Controlling & Special Projects team for 6 months.
     
    Martinjoined us from Czech Republic in March 2013 for a 4 months assignment in Roche Diagnostics International in Rotkreuz. Thereafter, he moved to Roche Diagnostics in Praque to work as a Financial Controller for 4 months. Together with his mentor he identified his current assignment in the Lifecycle Controlling Team in Pharma in South San Francisco for 6 months.
     
    Noemie, Gevorg, Arjunand Philip joined the program early 2014 and they are currently in their first 6-8 months assignments working at Roche Headquarters in Basel, Roche Diagnostics International in Rotkreuz or in the Pharma affiliate in Moscow.
     
    All participants will identify their next assignments together with their mentors subject to interest and development needs.
     
     
    Who you are
    You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies. Where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point.
     
    As an ideal candidate, you fulfill all of the requirements below:
  • Excellent relevant academic education (university degree in business administration, industrial engineering or Information Management with clear focus on Finance)
  • Early stage of career: between 1-5 years of professional (Finance) work experience including apprenticeships & internships, with at least 6 months spent in a foreign country
  • Show strong leadership potential and have the ambition to take over a leadership position in the near future in Finance
  • Have a global mindset and have a high degree of mobility both during program and afterwards
  • Are a team player and can integrate well into different cultures and business settings
  • Individuals that are driven to learn about the business, and about Finance
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration & communication skills
  • Fluent in English, bilingual preferred. Willingness to learn other languages
  • Have the relevant technology skills (e.g. Social Media, MS-office, …)  
    The start of the program (early 2015) will be determined on an individual basis. Closing date for applications is 16 May 2014. After a pre-selection process, the final candidates will be invited to an Assessment Center which takes place on 14/15 August 2014 in Basel, Switzerland.
